One of the world’s most respected international arts festivals and Western Australia’s premier arts event, every summer Perth Festival presents a program of theatre, dance, opera, contemporary and classical music, circus, visual arts, film, literature and talks and free events that in 2018 was experienced by over 460,000 people.

Under my leadership Perth Festival presents the world’s leading artists, includes a rich mix of cultural perspectives and is inspired by a sense of place. The festival is underpinned by values of learning, participation and access for all and is committed to creating projects with the community to resonate with the lives of Western Australians.

The organization has an operating budget of AUD$17million. The 2018 Festival took box office income of $4.3million. There is a permanent staff of 33 that builds to 90 in the lead up to the festival.

The UK’s largest arts centre, Southbank presents a wide-ranging programme covering classical and contemporary music, art, performance, dance, literature and talks. It’s a place where people experience world-class art and culture that stimulates, inspires, educates and amazes.


2005 - 2011

Head of Theatre & DanceSydney Opera House

Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognisable buildings of the twentieth century. I was responsible for ensuring that the dance and theatre presented inside its venues and on its open spaces on Sydney Harbour was as inspiring as its architecture.
